The Downtown Hostel, is a new hostel created and thought for the backpacker guest who wants to rest and spend a good time in the heart of the La Paz tourist centre. It is located just one walking minute to the San Francisco Church, witches market, local stores , pubs and restaurants near and around the well know Sagarnaga street. All together with our well know hostel service: hot water, clean beds and sheets, huge breakfast and Restaurant Service. Nice staff, great location, felt safe and secure. The coffee at breakfast is the worst I've had in South America. My bathroom smelt of sewage. All of the above is forgiveable, except we stayed there nearly a week and the WiFi in the bedrooms does not work.

I spent 2 weeks there while sick and it was the perfect place. Even the single rooms for one person have two beds, are really big and have a cool view! The staff was adorable and came to check on me, offered to get me to a doctor or get me médecine. It’s definitely not a social hostel but it was perfect for a nice break from socializing! Also loved the location!!

I stayed there for 12 days while I was sick and it was the perfect place. The bedroom was really big and comfortable, breakfast was perfect and the staff was super helpful and really nice. They came to check on me after not seeing me for 2-3 days, gave me some doctors info and even asked if I wanted them to buy me médecine! So overall a really nice place to stay! I’ve heard that the neighborhood is not that secure from the taxis but I never felt it.
