Rokadura is a collection of locals, artists, volunteers and travellers from around the world.
We have private rooms and shared dormitories, rooftop views and poolside hammocks, and enough space for all guests to feel welcome and comfortable.
Our spaces are bright, airy and full of tropical fruit trees. We have a swimming pool that guests are free to use. There are plenty of benches, tables and chairs you can use in our leafy common areas. There is a large communal kitchen, with all amenities, that you may use 24 hours a day. You will have a key to the front door and can come and go as you please.
We are based in one of the best locations of Santa Marta, near to some of the finest attractions and landmarks such as Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino, Altar de la Patria, Parque Boulevard Los Trupillos and Parque Esteves, amongst other interesting sites of our city. Public transport is frequent and cheap, as are taxis.

Bit out of town which is ok as taxis are cheap. Hostel has potential but isn’t run well. Staff all lovely but most of the time it seemed to be children/teenagers at the front desk. Water frequently went off and we had to find someone to turn it back on. Kitchen ok. Bed missing lots of slats so pretty uncomfortable to sleep on as collapsed in middle.

A group of around 20 people, colombians from Cali, where at the hostel at the time I was there. they returned to the hostel at midnight and literallly started a party in the pool area right outside my room. there was loud music, drinking and talking loudly, unbelievably rude, not caring about anybody else but themselves. this went on all night until 4 -5 am. and where was the staff during all this? no where to be seen.
I left the next day.

We should have set our expectations lower based on the price. Location is not close to the city center/water. The front desk person was not friendly during check-in. The rooms are bare and need work: the showerhead was dripping, water was pooled on the bathroom floor, lots of ants, and the lock on the door broke after one use. Management was helpful and tried to resolve the issues, but we didn’t feel comfortable completing our stay. We ended up cancelling and getting our money back.
