Wanaka Bakpaka has a stunning view overlooking Lake Wanaka. Whether it be summer or winter the view of the Lake and Mountains show of whatever season you choose to visit Wanaka.
Our lounge and dinning room are T.V free which allows guests to relax, chat to fellow travelers or enjoy a nice glass of wine. We have a well stocked kitchen, a BBQ outside area and full Laundry facilities.
All of our rooms are clean and simple backpacker rooms. We offer a small amount of private rooms and mixed dorm and share rooms.
Wanaka has a range of activities to suit any traveler. You can simply sit by the Lakefront with a coffee and enjoy the views or Skydive over our beautiful mountains!

Construction outside my window two inches from my head starting at 6am. Building sounds are one thing but the music the workers were playing was louder than anything as well. If you are looking for a social hostel, this is NOT it, everyone seems to be a long term stayer and no one went out of their way to chat, you were lucky to get a hello. The staff seemed annoyed having to help anyone and the kitchen wasn’t the best. Pretty view from the patio but a huge hill to get up there and a good walk from the main

Very clean and reasonably priced. Not very social so happy I already knew people that were there at the same time. Is about a 5-10 min easy walk into town.
