Here are some tips and information from our region.
Our house is 5 km from the Center and 7 km from the bus station.
I recommend going by Uber, which is around R$ 15 to R$ 25 (Reais). Or the bus that leaves from the center.
We are in the Vila Velha neighborhood, a unique place in Angra.
The neighborhood is close to a military area, so it's very safe.
In addition, we are within the APA (Environmental Protection Area) and APP.
We are located right after the paradisiacal Praia do Leste, about 250 meters away.
In front of our house there is a small beach, with access to 100 meters on foot.
In addition to these two beaches already mentioned, we have more than 10 nearby beaches: Praia do Bonfim, Praia das Gordas, Praia Grande, Praia da Figueira, Praia da Bica, Praia da Gruta, Praia do Tanguazinho and Praia do Tanguá.
In front of our house we have Ilha da Gipoia, which provides a wonderful sunset between the mountain and the sea. This island is 5 minutes away from Praia do Leste, from where you can take a boat taxi for R$50 (Reais) per person, round trip.
On Gipoia island is the famous Praia do Dentista, which is very popular, especially in summer. In addition, there is a whole range of beaches and restaurants on the island, such as Canto das Canoas, Ponta da Piedade, Praia da Fazenda, Praia das Flechas (with great options for lunch), among others.
Next to our house we have a grocery store, bakery and some restaurants. The nearest markets are 500 meters from here, in Vila da Vila Velha, or in Bonfim, which is 2 km away and has another market that also sells basic pharmacy items. Still in Bonfim, close to the market, there is a bakery, as well as restaurants on Grande and Bonfim beaches.
