The Spindrift is a modern backpacker hostel located in the heart of Weligama and just a few seconds walk to the surfers paradise of beautiful Weligama beach. Designed by backpackers for backpackers we have created a place with all the essentials a backpacker could need! We are all about comfort and atmosphere and offer a modern, clean and comfortable place to hang out and meet new friends from all over the world.
The Spindrift offers backpackers the choice of spacious doubles or sleek dorm rooms. The multiple chill out areas, balconies and outdoor spaces make it the perfect place to chill and share amazing travel experiences. Our brand new cafe offers guests coffees, juices, breakfasts and toasties to enjoy under our shady mango tree!
The awesome daily activities will mean you are never short of things to do and people to meet. Not to mention the retro gaming corner where you can battle it out to get your name on the leaderboard.
The hostel offers hot en-suite showers in every room, wifi, lockers, power point per bed, water re-fills and tea and a communal kitchen to help make you feel at home.

Had an amazing stay at spindrift. Ended up extending my stay. The hostel was clean and the facilities were great. A great communal area for everyone to hang out in, which meant we could all get to know each other. UD was an incredible host, super friendly and keen to help organise any plans or give advice on what to see/ do in the area. Will definitely recommend to friends and I’ll be back

I loved my stay at The Spindrift! The rooms were clean, comfortable beds and so nice to have an en suit bathroom! Even though I visited out of season there were still activities on the go, which led to some great hostel bonding! Had some great movie nights, surf sessions and a trip to the doctors house all with the new friends I’d made at the hostel! Will definitely come again !!!
