I must start out by saying the atmosphere is beautiful and we had a wonderful time interacting with all of the animals! Ilumán is a bit outside of Otavalo, so you will be reliant on taxi or car. I was a bit disappointed that the hostal’s host, José, seemed to overbook our room. I have seen other reviews saying the same thing, but he asked us to move our room on our last day to one without a private bathroom (even though we paid for that) and we later saw another group who also paid for same room

Overall the accommodation has all you need, unfortunately the shower is only cold. The place is a bit far off, so it is great if you like a silent place surrounded by nature.

truly the best experience ever! que magnifique todos que estevan quedando y el tio's y tia's que estaban trabajando! everyone was incredibly sweet and caring, location beautiful and totally safe. viva los indigenas!!
