The Jaca Hostel is a small Hostel in the quiet village of Porto Da Cruz on Madeira Island. Before, it was a family home, coming from the nineteenth century, which after being remodelled became a cosy place that mixes the blue of the sea, the surf and the waves with the green of the mountains, the trails and the levadas. The name Jaca is original of a regionalism of the island of Madeira that means small crab.
This property is 1 minute walk from the beach. Located in Porto da Cruz, Jaca Hostel offers a garden, terrace and shared lounge. Free WiFi is included.
We offer Private rooms twin and double and a shared dorm for up to six guest.All the rooms are with wooden floors with simple and pleasant decoration.

Lovely venue in a gorgeous setting. Loved my attic bed and the balcony view. Residents seemed a bit cliquey and selective about who they spoke to depending on how you looked perhaps? Pity as it's so beautiful there and all the other hostels I've stayed at in Portugal were super welcoming and very sociable.

Wish I could give more than 5 stars. Jaca immediately felt like home. It’s located in Porto da Cruz which is absolutely stunning and has a small beach town vibe with incredible views around. The staff was awesome. Special thanks to Ricky who makes the best pizza ever, and to Félicie who is an awesome yoga teacher and beautiful human inside and out. Check out her yoga class when you get there!
Jaca felt like a little family, as much the staff as the other travelers. You won’t regret going
