Property Description
Ritmo Del Rio is an Ecolodge, restaurante, music venue and Organic farm in the subtropical Andes in San Rafael, Antioquia. — a tranquil agricultural town three hours to the east of Medellin and just one hour from the town of Guatape and La Piedra del Peñol.
Our property is set right on el Río el Macanal-- a crystal clear river with plenty of swimming holes and waterfalls to explore just a few minute walk from our Cabañas.
Here on our nature reserve, you can see monkeys, go swimming, learn about organic agriculture, take classes at our Spanish school, go birdwatching with local experts, take a yoga class, or organize tours with one of the many local guides that offer a variety of activities around San Rafael (Tubing, Cacao Tours, Waterfall Hikes and more!) We have a restaurante with Colombian and international dishes, and we try to source as many ingredientes from our farm fresh and harvested daily.
Sitting at 1000 meters, San Rafael has an incredible subtropical climate year-round, never becoming overwhelmingly hot or unpleasantly cold, with a year-round average temperature of 26° C (79° F).
Year round San Rafael has a great climate for hiking, tubing in the rivers, birdwatching or any of the other activities you can find in San Rafael! With six crystal clear rivers, dozens of waterfalls, beautiful jungle treks, San Rafael is a tropical paradise.
At Ritmo del Río, we are located 7km outside of town, so you'll be close enough to go for a quick trip to el pueblo, but far enough out to enjoy the calm of the countryside.
We invite you relax in nature to enjoy the beauty of the Colombian Andes.
Founded in 2013, Ritmo Del Rio is a multifaceted project, with four main focuses in mind: sustainable tourism, organic agriculture, culinary arts, and education.
We have 6 different cabins and several 3-4 bed dorm-rooms also available.

My friends and I loved every moment staying at Ritmo del Rio. The food, the surrounding nature, and the staff were all top notch. We loved being able to stay somewhere nice and relaxing in the middle of the jungle. Highly recommended, especially doing some of the tours and experiences with guides associated with the hostel.
