Come towards Honduras from Leon and El Salvador, Guatemala and Belize, they will.also bring you directly to Jungle River Lodge at no extra charge. Stay one night or stay awile and check out Pico Bonito National Park. Then go out to the islands. We are located at Km 7, Careterra a Yaruca, 25 minutes from downtown La Ceiba or 40 minutes from the Utila and Roatan Ferry terminal so you can also take one of our recommended taxis who charge 400 lempiras or if you can get to the Terminal de Buses Principa?, San Jose before their departures, you can catch the local bus and get dropped off right in front of Jungle River Lodge for 25 Lempiras. To get to the ferry terminal, the 7 am (ish)
Local bus passes right in front of our gate. If they have room, they will stop. You still have take a taxi from La Cieba to the ferry terminal but that is only about 50 L per person from there. If the bus is full, alot of people hitch hike rides or it is still early enough to call a taxi.

Jungle River Lodge has nice bright, clean and breezy Dorms with no bunk beds. Our Private rooms are all different, clean and comfortable. We have lockers in the dorms and provide guests with safe storage of small items. Our dorms have bathrooms with cold showers, Towels provided upon request with deposit. The Private rooms have hot or cold water showers. We provide a laundry service and housekeeping upon request. We have a restaurant with delicious breakfasts, lunches, appys and tasty meals. We provide Honduran dishes, vegan and vegetarian dishes and some international favs. We have a bar serving icy cold beers, delicious cocktails, guititi and more. We have natural juices and smoothies and Topollillos. We do not have a communal kitchen nor storage for food so we request guest do not bring food or drinks, especially since having these in rooms attacts jungle critters and crazy ants.

Our guests meet each other and become family, hang out, play games, chill, listen to music, use the firepit (after collecting their own wood) and hike and raft and everything else. We provide decent WiFi in our common area and have a book exchange. We have have stunning view of the sunset and night sky and two natural swimming pools which are perched on the cliff. Jumgle River is located at the best cliff jumping and swimming spots on the river and is sandwiched between Pico Bonito National Park and Nombre de Dios National Park so seeing wild toucans, kingfishers, igrets, parrots, auropendulum and other birds is pretty normal. Our dog Perosky #3 is very cute and loves attention an our resident scarlet macaw, Guara goes from being a noble to being an outright dictator.

I typically don’t leave reviews (I often forgot to) but a review for Jungle River Lodge was a must! Kathy and Lucy are simply fantastic. Two of the kindest people I have ever met and both are EXTREMELY knowledgeable about their property and the nature that surrounds it. You can jump off of the large rocks into the river right from the property. Felt extremely safe and welcome at this hostel. This family run business truly caters to their guests and are truly interested in getting to know everyone. They spe

The location is unbeatable, the terrace has amazing views of the mountains, the rainforest and the river. You can jump in the river only 10 meters from the lodge or relax in the natural pools. The river rafting experience was super fun and for only $35 it’s really great value. The problem for me was the lack of other guests, and therefore the atmosphere was not great. I am a solo traveller and I was hoping to meet other backpackers and go on lots of adventures during my stay. On one day I was the only guest

The jungle river lodge is a hidden gem. I've stayed here twice on my travels. The facilities are superb for backpackers. It is located right on the river about six miles from town. They offer hiking tours to Pico Bonito National Park and whitewater rafting. The bar/restaurant faces the river, which is a short 20 foot jump into the river.
