Property Description
The property is a converted barn that was lovingly restored to keep its natural beauty and history. We have one dormitory style bedroom that sleeps up to six people in single beds that are so comfortable no bunk beds.
We are located on a working farm with dogs sheep and cattle .We provide hillwalking tours and sheepdog demonstrations daily. Free breakfast is provide daily. The property was built in 1920 so has lots of history it started out as cow barn for protecting the animals against the wild Atlantic storms it the fell into disrepair over the years and in 2016 and was repaired and Mountain View Hostel was born.
We have had travelers from all over the world from Iceland to Peru !!It is a very relaxed environment at the hostel come and go as you please upon arrival you will get your own key for the door and you keep this for the remaining of your stay .There is always someone on site to answer any questions you may have about the local area or where to go or what to see thanks again.

For many years, I am a travel writer and have stayed in hostels all over the world. This hostel is a gem, by far the best hostel I have ever stayed in. It is beautiful, clean and comfortable. Larry the host/owner is a fabulous host and storyteller and he will be getting highly recommended in my next travel book. The scenery and surroundings are stunning, highly, highly recommended this hostel.

Cute farmhouse with plenty of space. However be prepared they only take cash (which I didn’t have so had to drive to the village to get it after a long drive there). The location is very out of the way but it does look like there are some nice hikes if you have some time. And it has a very steep, narrow staircase to the beds so I imagine it would be difficult to get your luggage up there (there was no one else there when I stayed there so just left my luggage in the kitchen).
