Cool hostel with a nice vibe. The staff were helpful and friendly. They have a great free shuttle service that takes you to the Orangutangs, Sunbears and the Discovery Centre. The restaurant is decent, with some good local food. However, the dorms werent good at all. No AC, 3 roof fans that dont do alot. Loads of mosquitoes and the mosquito nets didnt work well, we woke up with a lot of bites. Only two chargers for a 12 bed dorm. I'd pay the extra cost for a private room.

The staff are lovely and really helpful! The view and scenery are beautiful being in the rainforest, minus the palm trees...we did see a hornbill and other birds. HOWEVER, the property/facilities are no up to standard. The toilets/showers were not clean. There were two sockets for a 10 bed dorm, no lamp ir facilities by bed at all. The places generally needs a good clean. Hammocks were very low to the ground. decking had no shade. deck chairs not comfy. The food was okay.

Lovely hostel in the middle of the jungle in Sepilok! Super close to the sun bear conservation centre and the orangutan sanctuary but quite far from everything else - taxi needed to get to and from Sandakan. Facilities are basic but mosquito nets were provided in the dorm rooms which was super useful. Definitely worth a visit for a night or two for the authentic jungle vibes in Sepilok!
