Property Description
We are located in Miyagawa Town, the “Hana-machi” in Kyoto, which is near from Gion. Our place is surrounded by local businesses and restaurants, as well as local attractions.
All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, comfy mattress and clothes hanger. Bathroom facilities and toilets are shared. Hairdryer, slippers and free toiletries including shampoo and body soap are provided for guests.
The single bed is equipped with a socket, reading light, personal security box, and clothes hangers.
* *Kyoto City Accommodation Tax ¥200 per person per night is NOT included in the room rate.

When you request to leave your luggage before check-in, it is possible only from 08:00 to 15:00

5. Cancellation policy:
(1) 14 days (or more) before Arrival Date: free.
(2) 7 days before Arrival Date: 50 % of the total amount.
(3) 3 days before or No Show: 100 % of the total amount.
6. Children are welcome.
7. No smoking.
8. Pets are not allowed.
9. Due to the effects of the new coronavirus (COVID-19), food and beverage services at this property may be restricted or unavailable.
10. City tax ¥200 per person is not included in room rate.
11. No curfew, no shoes inside property.
12. No noise after 22:00 (cannot cook or use washing machine after 22:00)
13. No food or drinks inside the dorm.
14. No party, no drugs, no alcohol abuse.
All reservations must be guaranteed by a valid credit card.

There's a lot of signs with directives of how to behave, which makes me think that some of the previous guests have forgotten how to behave when in someone else's home. Seriously people, do you need to be told not to take someone else's food in the fridge?
The location is a little far from the JR Shinkansen station for walking with luggage. The Hanakanzashi folks sent instructions which transit to take. I wish I had been up to the task of negotiating transit. Location is great for Gion area.

The hostel is located in a busy area so there is a lot to do nearby as well as metro is close. Beds are the capsule type and the floor area outside the bed is adequate. I personally do not like the capsule style because it is awkward to get in and out and feels a little stuffy in there. They can fit more of them in a room so I imagine the future holds a lot of them.
