The host was very welcoming,chatty and knowledgeable He cooked whitebait fritters for all who wanted them and they were said to be delicious - we are vegetarian so did not have them. The room was lovely, recently having been refurbished. The common area was lively with board games, books and informationavailable. The stove made us cosy and a box of hot water bottles was available. We are planning to return.

Charming hostel located very conveniently near Greymouth Railway station. The hostel is family-run and provided a home away from home for a few days for me, because of the welcoming, friendly and helpful owners and the thoughtfully arranged comfortable interior and atmosphere of the hostel :) One thing I liked in particular, in addition to many other nice things: The offer of hot water bottles to take to your room when it's cold :)

This place was made by the awesome owner and the kitchen facilities. There was really no atmosphere and only one working toilet in the second floor but the private rooms were worth the money and it was a good base to explore Greymouth.
