Los Amigos is a beautiful place, however it’s very busy and the food is overpriced. It’s not a place to experience what Guatemala is like and felt very catered to tourists with a bit more money. But if you want a party and you’re slightly younger (I am 30 and felt the crowd was more like 18-25) it’s for you.

I had an okay experience until the last night I stayed at the property. I was placed in dorm 2, which I do not suggest as it’s super loud and next to the entrance. My bed also got messed up and it was a nightmare. I had bad sleep on my last night that I had to book a hotel room to recover the next night.

Los Amigos hostel is expensive, the value it offers is very poor. Pros: Hostel has an amazing restaurant which is a must visit and try their food, restaurant staff is friendly. Cons: our dorm room didint have hot water and the toilet flush worked on and off. the beds have no curtain. the common baths had hot water but one of the days they were shut for renovation. I stayed here for 5 nights and requested reception for a lower bed, they didnt even for a single day even when they were empty.
