Property Description

Hostel, yoga & meditation in a unique place in downtown Rio de Janeiro for travellers, students or professionals who need a nice place to rest and to revitalize.

When you go out, you´ll have many museums (Museu do Amanhã, MAR), cultural institutions (CCBB, Real Gabinete de Leitura Português), churches (Candelária, Mosteiro de São Bento) and historical landmarks (Pedra do Sal, Cais do Valongo) quite around the corner.

You can take a bike for rent, the Metro, or Ubber and you´ll enjoy all of the stunning wonders that Rio has to offer: beaches, urban forests, trails.

While in, you´ll have access to brand new facilities, with collective sleeping dormitories (one of them exclusively for women) and one private. All of them bright, well ventilated and equipped with air conditioning.

Installed in an early XX century building, part of Rio de Janeiro’s heritage, in Sangha Urbana you will find an yoga room and a meditation room in the same building.

Back in 1992, Rio de Janeiro hosted “Rio-92”, an event that kick-started a global environmental revolution yet to take place. This agenda keeps on evolving. Rio+20 came about and, now, our eyes and efforts focus on the 2030 Agenda and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

We took some tiny decisions oriented by great purposes. We chose to equip our bathrooms with sinks and valves that allow up to 60% reduction in water waste. We prioritize furniture made out of reclaimed wood. Our kitchen is equipped with sponges made out of vegetable material and coconut soap bars. During day hours, our huge colonial windows welcome sunlight and fresh air. At night, we chose to use energy-saving LED lightbulbs. Other sustainable maesures are about to come.

Together, let’s turn the table. We come together in awareness and sustainability. Love will win. The planet will be grateful. And we will grow, have fun, and sleep well, peacefully.

An inviting, welcoming and stimulating environment awaits you, so that you can rest and recharge. Also, how nice will it be to meet other pilgrims, tourists and locals, treading this same journey?

Because the goal is simply “to be” and city chaos is not a reason for you to steer off Couse.

My friend and I stayed here for New Years and enjoyed our stay but it is not at all a party/ social hostel. We met some great people in our room and the workers were very nice and helpful! We arrived very early in Rio before check in and they let us keep our bags there while we roamed the city. They have three high bunk beds which were a little scary but fine. The food right outside of the hostel was amazing and we didn’t get to try more of the food around because they were closed for NYE.

The hostel itself is pretty nice, a yoga atmosphere. The staff was nice, breakfast was ok. The beds were made out of metal and were 3 on top of each other. If you move even a little bit it's likely somebody will wake up unfortunately. However, the biggest complaint is the location where the hostel is. During the weekend everything was closed, and there were huge amounts of homeless and a dangerous atmosphere in the area nearby. This might be different during the weekdays. Not a very social place
