GESTAPO HEADQUARTERS!
If you’re thinking about staying at Freedom Hostel (or Premium Hostel, which shares the same building) it’s important to know that the building was originally the Krakow Gestapo headquarters.
We didn’t receive any info about this online and only found out when translating a plaque on the wall that explained that “thousands of Polish people have been tortured and murdered by German barbarians in this buildingâ€.
Perfectly fine hostel but we found this very disturbing.

The place was okay. But the bed was disgusting and dirty. Very difficult to fall asleep on such a dirty mattress. And, I had a hard time breathing because of the dirtiness of the room. Not a hostel atmosphere. More of a jankt hotel that usef to be janky apartments.
