Welcome to Mar Caribe Hostel. A small place with a warm natural environment in Puerto Viejo center. Prices are unique and it is definitely a place where you would love to stay.
Our place is 150m far from the beach. It is also close to Playa Negra, Cocles, Punta Uva and Arrecife. Supermarkets, ATMs, banks and pharmacies are also close.
Puerto Viejo is a town with many activities to enjoy at day and night time. Being right in the center will make it easier for you to enjoy, then get back to your place safely and easy. We have rooms with a private bathroom and kitchen, and also others that share it. We have comfortable beds in our rooms and fans in each of them. We have wifi service so you can have communication at all time.

Cancellation Policy: 2 days before arrival.In case of a late cancellation or No Show, you will be charged the first night of your stay.

A nice place near everything, the instructions on how to get there aren’t very clear and when asking locals for help nobody knew where it was (we had just come from panama so had no sim/Google maps). We were overcharged $9 when we arrived which we later realised, they did rectify after a lot of explaining but not sure how it happened. The bedrooms are very small and hot but each bed has a fan and plug, good kitchen, hot showers.

A little off the beaten track but good value for money in the money pit that is Costa Rica. Staff super friendly and kitchen and rooms very clean. However the rooms were so tiny and there was very little ventilation! We had fans but air conditioning is definitely needed. Also needs more communal space
