This is a great hostel if you’re flying from the airport or arriving late and want somewhere close by to stay. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful. Beds are comfy and have air con, though there’s no lockers and few plug sockets in the rooms. There’s a good kitchen with free coffee. Taxis to/from the old town are cheap and the 35 minute walk is easy in the day, though for convenience I’d recommend staying somewhere closer to the town if you’re staying more than a day or two.

Booked because of the high rating but was very confused from the moment we arrived. Extremely small, just in a man’s house who plays music outside on the street with a big speaker with him and his friends with all the doors open while you’re trying to sleep and you can hear everything. Because of the layout there’s no chance to socialise. The man was lovely so this review isn’t out of being annoyed, it’s just what I would have wanted to know before booking.

nothing but good things to say about this location and the people working there! a kind Colombian family owns this and they really ensure their guests feel at home. we ended up checking multiple hostels out in cartagena and decided to come back for the great atmosphere! the location may not be for everyone, but we felt safe. tons of cheap food options nearby. thank you Jimmy and family for making us feel so welcome!
