Property Description
Our lovely building was built in the beginning of the 20th century, witnessing the organic relationship between Athens and neoclassical architecture. The building remained largely unused from 1970 until 2021. Our goal was to keep the neoclassical soul while adding a tropical vibe to it. After a year of renovations, Baloo Hostel opened its doors in the summer of 2022.
We have air-conditioning in all rooms and common areas for those warmer than average days or nights. You will have access card to enter your rooms. You can store your luggage below your beds and use your lock or rent one at the reception.
We offer 4 beds mixed and female dormitory with ensuite bathrooms as well as spacious dormitories that can comfortably accommodate 8 people and one private room for 2 people without ensuite bathroom.
Baloo Hostel Terms & Conditions:
Cancellation policy: 2 days before arrival. In case of a late cancellation or No Show, you will be charged the first night of your stay.
Check in
- from 14:00 to 23:00 during High Season (April-October)
- from 14:00 to 22:00 during Low Season (November-March).
Please advise us if you plan to check-in later.
Payment upon arrival by cash, credit & debit cards.
Taxes included
Breakfast not included.

Amazing hostel! I was traveling alone and thought it was set up very well for meeting people. In terms of the place itself, this is one of the cleanliness hostels I’ve ever stayed at. Great bathrooms and bedrooms. Only down side is there are no good grocery stores near, but that’s not the hostels fault. Staff was very accommodating and nice. Would recommend 10 times over!

Wonderful stay at Baloo Hostel. I was only there for three nights and it was shoulder season (generally quite). Staff was amazing (thanks Alex for making me feel at home). Not in the best part of town but never felt in danger. Beautiful indoors and bar. Bathrooms very clean. Would stay again!

Really lovely hostel, but the neighbourhood is definitely one of the rougher areas in Athens. Wouldn't recommend returning late at night on your own.
