Property Description
Guarumbo is a bioconstruction project focused on several upcycling techniques. Integrating the architecture to the nature. We offer an alternative accommodation in Bacalar, less touristic town in the Caribbean side of Mexico.
Our hostel is very close to the lagoon and the main square, you will find a family atmosphere and a place where you can meet other backpackers. Each bed in the dorm has a fan, a light, a plug and a locker.
The place is very quiet so people usually come to rest, read in our hammocks or meeting other travellers. It is possible to book some activities in the lagoon, rent a kayak or a bike and explore the town by yourself!
Guarumbo Terms & Conditions:
Cancellation policy: 1 day before arrival. In case of a late cancellation or No Show, you will be charged the first night of your stay.
Check in from 12:00 to 22:00 .
Check out before 11:00 .
Payment upon arrival by cash only.
Taxes included
Breakfast not included.
Reception hours 8:30 to 22:00.
No pets allowed.
We do not accept customers younger than 18 years of age.

Nice and quiet hostel, where you can chill in bacalar without noise. It is about 10 to 15 mins to the center or the lagoon. The only thing I couldn’t understand is why we are supposed to pay with cash. Beside that, everything was cool

I loved Guarumbo and its probably the most comfortable sleep Ive had in a dorm that doesn't have AC due to the small but strong fan blowing right onto you. Wonderful staff, good wifi, and lots of hammocks to rest in. Its also just a six minute walk from the free public pier to swim in the lagoon.

Nice place. Negatives: The toilets are downstairs from the rooms. The showerheads need fixing. The bug netting on the beds was an annoyance and didn't even work to keep bugs out. There was noise from construction during the day and from dogs, roosters, etc at night. Despite these drawbacks, it was a pleasant comfortable place.
