Yogg Hostel Varanasi is housed in a 300 year old refurbished mansion next to an 1800-year-old temple in the tourist centre and less than a 1 minute walk from the River Ganges and all popular cultural attractions.

The hostel is perfectly located for those wanting to discover the fascinating network of alleys dating back to more than 2000 years famous temples such as the Vishwanath Temple and the burning ghats are just a short walk away. Breakfast is included in the price.

The hostel offers several bespoke guided walking tours at very reasonable prices which include boat tours and several other social activities. The hostel is open 24 hours a day and luggage storage is provided prior to check-in and after the check-out time.

Based on previous reviews, this hostel has suffered from the pandemic. There was no breakfast nor kitchen as stated in the description here, and the staff seemed completely uninterested in providing a service. We were booked in the private suite as we'd travelled a long way, and the room hadn't been cleaned, there were mouse droppings all under the bed, and on the second day the shower in the room only put out brown water. The common area upstairs was also in disrepair - just disappointing

Lovely staff, who were very helpful. Our bed had fresh mouse p*o on both nights we stayed. No loo roll at all for our stay. Showers were dirty and filled with old toiletries and razors. No common area as advertised, as itâ€™s â€œunder constructionâ€. Although we did have a wonderful time in Varanasi.

As with many hostels, this one that has fallen victim to covid. Itâ€™s very much been neglected and left unloved. The common room and the rooftop are dirty, abandoned and not habitable. There is no accessible kitchen and there is no free breakfast. However, The dorms rooms are clean, comfortable with great AC and the showers are good. There is hot water but in 39 degree heat thatâ€™s the last thing you want! I would absolutely stay here again but it really is needing a lot of TLC to get it back to how great it
