Historika Hostel

Historika Hostel is a safe and fun space for all women. A community of women created and developed by women. As a guest 20 pesos each night you stay will fund the stay of local women that must escape a domestic violence situation. Our staff and volunteers all have creative abilities, we also welcome any women that would like to develop their creative abilities with different musical workshops. Any guest that has already discovered their creative ability and would like to collaborate with us is also gladly welcomed. We also have workshops that include yoga, percussion drums, salsa, sikuri music, and counseling for women.

As a hostel that will always have positive vibes with music, we also have a weekly jam session in our living room, where women will freely express their musical abilities or learn as they join us, this event is only open to women that are guest and our amigas that live in town. We also have weekly live concerts open to the public with beverages and food. The weekly concert is the only time when we will have men at the event, the men at the event must remain respectful to women or they will be escorted out. Since this is a space for women, we will not allow any men to enter the space unannounced, which means our guest cannot bring men into our space or we will have to ask our guest to leave during daytime hours without a refund. The other reason we cannot have men in the space is because we also have a project called Fenix. Project Fenix is meant to help local women in Chiapas that are experiencing domestic violence at home and need a bed to sleep and be safe among women that can help and support them. We provide a bed and counseling to them and a community where they can heal amongst other women that can help them.

For our foreign travelers this will be a good way to get to know local women and understand the social dynamics of what occurs in Mexican households. Join our community of talented and creative women while allowing yourself to freely express yourself without judgement. Let's dance and sing.

Cancellation policy: 1 day before arrival. In case of a late cancellation or No Show, you will be charged the first night of your stay.

Check out before 11:00 .
