I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Guten Tag Kolkata Backpackers Hostel. The clean and comfortable rooms, combined with the friendly and helpful staff, made me feel right at home. The place had great reviews. But, it is a very very average hostel. Cons: 1. Very crammed beds 2. No ventilation whatsoever 3. There is no etiquette. People are drinking and smoking 24/7. 5. The place is very dirty and not clean at all. Pros: 1. People are good 2. The staff haupu is very friendly and helped us 3. Location is peaceful. But overall experience is not as glorified on the review section. Itâ€™s very very average.

The best hostel to stay at in Kolkata. The people running it are amazing and so are the people staying here. Clean, friendly, easily accessible, cooperative, the whole nine. What's the icing on top is the location which is possibly the most peaceful area in Kolkata. The airport is near and so are the local markets that kolkata is famous for. You get the best of Kolkata without having to stay in crowded areas. Highly recommended.
