Introducing Vernon’s newest Budget B&B. I’m Laurie, the owner, and I am finally realizing a lifelong dream to host travelers in my adopted home of Vernon BC.

We’re a small facility with just 14 beds. You can expect a homey atmosphere with friendly helpful staff. We’re not a party house but feel free to throw on a pair of complimentary slippers, kick back and have fun or relax after a day on the hill or at the beach.

Prepare your dinner in the fully equipped kitchen and enjoy a meal with fellow travelers in the dining room.

When it’s time to sleep you’ll enjoy the comfy beds with duvets and fluffy pillows. Each bed includes a storage locker for your backpacks, shoes, and other items, personal lighting, and power stations. Portable safes for storing your electronics, passport, money, etc. are available for rent. They can be secured to the bed or they can be taken off-site and secured to a bike or chair at the beach.

And when you wake there’s a yummy breakfast waiting for you. We even have to cook your waffles!

We’re close to downtown with a great selection of coffee shops, restaurants, pubs, grocery stores, and shops. And we’re just a short walk from the E-Bus and airport shuttle stops.

The area offers a great variety of things to do. Head up the mountain for great skiing and boarding in the winter and hiking, biking, and site seeing in the summer There are many great hikes and the rail trail provides miles of walking or biking along the beautiful Kalamalka Lake. Peddle and e-bike rentals are available.

We have 2 beautiful lakes for sunning, swimming and paddling. Kayaks and boards can be rented close by.

Welcome to The Laughing Llama Hostel, our boutique traveler's community. We celebrate diversity, fostering a unique environment where travelers from different cultures and backgrounds come together. As part of our community, we kindly ask you to familiarize yourself with our guest rules and embrace the essence of shared accommodations.

A. Check-In/Check-Out/Quiet Time:

Check-in after 1 PM; if your bed isn't ready, you can store your belongings and enjoy the common areas.
Check out by 10 AM, and pay for additional nights in advance.
Late check-out may be arranged with the staff.
Present a valid Credit Card and Government Issued Photo ID at check-in.
We cater to bonafide travelers from outside the Thompson Okanagan area.
The minimum age is 19 (except for group bookings).
Staff available from 8 AM-5 PM; notify staff if leaving before 8 AM.
For after-hours emergencies, call the main number.
Contact staff if the door code doesn't work.
Quiet time is from 11 PM to 7 AM.
Hostel cleaning is from 12 PM to 2 PM.

B. Reservations & Cancellations:

Booking requires a valid credit card.
Cancel at least 48 hours before 1 PM on arrival date to avoid charges.

C. Group Bookings:

Private bookings are available; contact us for details.
The responsible person for the booking is accountable for all guests.
No stag or hen groups.
No pets are allowed, except certified service animals.

D. General Rules:

No shoes policy; slippers provided.
Store backpacks/luggage in lockable under bed lockers.
Portable safes are available for a fee.
Use designated bins for food storage.
Laptop for common use, not allowed in rooms.
No open flames or scented devices.

E. Guest Behaviour:

Practice compromise, courtesy, and respect towards other guests and staff.
Anti-social behavior is not tolerated.
Treat hostel items with care and cleanliness.
Be considerate in shared spaces.
Keep showers quick; don't leave personal items in the bathrooms.
Store food in the kitchen; no food or drinks in rooms.

F. Alcohol Policy:

Drinking allowed for legal age guests, without disrupting others.
No alcohol in the rooms.
Quietness after 11 PM; kitchen closed.

G. Smoking Policy:

No smoking anywhere on the property.
The Laughing Llama Hostel reserves the right to refuse service and ask guests to leave if they violate rules or disturb others. By staying here, you agree to pay for charges, hold the hostel harmless, and permit the use of media content. This is shared accommodation, and the owner and staff can refuse service to anyone violating the Terms and Conditions.
