Casa Encuentro has been my little shared home during my staying in Merida. It's been the only hostel I've ever spent time into where I really felt like at home. This allowing me to embrace my routines while co-sharing spaces and experiences with other travellers backpackers like me. Gym, swimming pool and the whole chemistry enhanced by the interior design and the focus on details generated the best experience of hostels I did not know I needed. Host Ramses makes this magic happen, 10 stars!

Pros: extremely clean, nice pool & general design. Cons: location is very bad, itâ€™s not clear who works there and the volunteers donâ€™t seem to know much (didnâ€™t have much of a check in, no reception area, wasnt shown the gym room etc.,) little to no atmosphere/socialising, bike tyres were all flat.

if youre relying on public transport, this will be a bit difficult. but if youre on a car or moto, this place is excellent! fairly clean, comfy beds, fast wifi, cool pool! Definitely more laidback and chill vibe.
