Property Description

Opened in 2017, Mr. Edgar and his family converted their home into a beautiful family lodge in the centre of Cancun.

Only 30 minutes by bus separates you from four-coloured turquoise beaches, azure blue skies, white sand, crystal clear waters and a glowing Caribbean sun.

We like to welcome laid back travellers, small families, some pets, groups looking for an economical and restful place to stay, have breakfast and relax with a good conversation on the terrace under the moonlight.

A few blocks away you will find the main bus station, a quick connection to the airport, which we can offer you if you need it.

After breakfast with a coffee, some toast and some fruit, you can sunbathe on the terrace, read any of the books in our small library while swimming in the pool under the flamboyant tree watching the views of the city of Cancun.

In the evening you can wash and hang your clothes in our inner courtyard, and play a board game or have a few chelas (beer) with other guests in the courtyard.

------------------------------
How to get to Casa Wayak

From the airport you can take the ADO bus service from the Cancun airport platforms, which costs around 120 pesos and will drop you off at the ADO bus station, a 13 minute walk from Casa Wayak.

You can also ask for our taxi service to and from the airport.

------------------------------
Where to eat

Ten minutes away you will find the famous Parque de las Palapas, the mythical place to eat good and cheap, where all Cancun locals gather. In this park you will find concerts and open-air shows, and many small street stalls for shopping and snacking.

Remember that it is a bit difficult to find alcohol by night. Oxxo shops sell alcohol until midnight and Circle K until 22h. Near Casa Wayak you'll find Nabil, which sells cheap beer until midnight every day.

------------------------------
Things to do in town

The beaches of the hotel zone are a must for lovers of the Caribbean. If you need more than just good beaches, Cancun can offer you a lagoon with crocodiles where you can rent a small boat for a boat ride along the lagoon's canals.

You can also visit the Ka Bah ecological park, where you will see small animals, birds and lots of vegetation, the Beto Avila baseball stadium, the Cancun bullring, the Andres Quintana Roo Olympic Stadium, the Cancun Cathedral and the Mayan museum in the hotel zone. And even a karaoke bar 4 minutes away from Casa Wayak.

------------------------------
About the neighborhood

One minute away, on both corners you have a pharmacy, a bureau de change and a 24 hour convenience store. Just in front of the avenue you have the famous Mercado 28, a local market of Mexican handicrafts where you can find sweets, souvenirs, shoes, traditional clothes, costume jewellery... And many restaurants and small street stalls where you can have a “pozol”, chilled coconut or an ice cream for 20 pesos.

During the mornings, right on our corner, there is a very cheap “tacos de canasta” stand that you have to try.

My wife & I spent 3 nights here with our group, and it’s not a bad place to stay, but we have a few things to say about it. They “provide AC” but they turn it off in the morning and don’t turn it back on until 8pm, so it’s super hot & humid all day if you ever want to be home. Breakfast is good - fruit & toast. Small, but sufficient. The exchange rate is completely wrong - our bank would’ve saved us $40 USD if we paid in pesos instead of USD. The staff is okay, friendly for sure but not overly accommodating
