Hidden gem in Nairobi, great social vibe and communal living conditions with fully equipped kitchen. Bathrooms are good, very hot showers and spacious. Big living room and gardens so lots of spaces to hang out and socialize. The staff are living in and super helpful and can recommend safari packages at very good prices! The neighbourhood (Lavington) feels safe to me, but still walking around (esp. alone) at night is not recommended, but lots of restaurants around for food choices :)

A little outside of town so takes a while to get to the center, but homey vibe with guests getting along well and a lot of people often chilling in the common areas to chat and swap stories. Staff was helpful in getting me set up for a safari. Bathrooms could use a shower curtain as the toilet area basically gets soaked whenever you shower

We enjoyed our stay at Mad Vervet. It's a nice old house with a big garden in a safe but uneventful area. It has a friendly atmosphere. Staff are nice but often can't find them. We were put in the separate house which seems to have been a bit forgotten. Could do with some more seating or hammocks in the garden so you can enjoy it. No mosquito nets on the beds but the mosquito plug works quite well.
