Located near the Kaylana Lake, The Hosteller Heritage Palace, Jodhpur is India’s first palace hostel. It is housed in one of Jodhpur’s oldest palaces, built way back in 1959 by Maharaja Takhat Singh as his family’s summer residence. The palace is majestic and built in the Indo Saracenic style of architecture mixed with Rajputana design elements. Nestled amidst lush green lawns, a big blue lake and palatial grounds - this hostel will feel like it is straight out of a movie, or a page of history.
Elegant, polished and comfortable rooms are complemented by a plethora of common areas, chill spaces and hang out spots in this palatial hostel. The hostel is part of the royal property (Bijolia Palace Hotel). I am a female solo traveler and travelled to Jodhpur recently. The property is a little outside the city but easily commutable by cabs and auto, arranged by the staff. The rooms are absolutely clean and staff was prompt - Mr. Om Singh and Mr. Paramveer helped with modifications to my food and room requests and arranged for transport upon request with absolute ease.

Bijolai palace hotel is beautiful. I made the most of my time there by clicking a lot of pictures. The hotel has an artificial lake in the premises that had an amazing sunset view. The rooms were clean. The cons were that I didn't have hot water in my room at 6 a.m. Also, the food options in the hotel longe restaurant are limited. There can be half plate options for people like me traveling solo as the quantity is a lot and gets wasted. Other guests in the hotel were not very friendly.
