Welcome to the charming Tikki Hostel!

Our hostel, which is located between a mangrove and one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, offers a special combination of breathtaking scenery, exciting events and a cozy atmosphere that ensures every visitor a wonderful experience.

The small hostel is run by two friends and has a family residing there to look after it, so you will be treated with lots of love and care. Being locals, we can provide you with insider information on hidden gems to explore, delicious local cuisine, rentals for scooters and motorbikes, guided volcano hiking and free kayaking. Our little restaurant and bar also offer free parties every Wednesday.

We would be happy to assist you throughout your visit to Ometepe Island.

El Tikki Hostel Policy and Condition:

Cancellation Policy: 1 day before arrival. In case of a late cancellation or No Show, you will be charged the first night of your stay.

The property was located right next to a swamp and the lake this caused there to be millions of small flies. These got into your mouth and nose during the night, it was impossible to sleep and the room was boiling hot. Please donâ€™t stay here. I have been ill the last few days from the amount of flies that must have got into my nose. Even during the day clothes hanging up to dry was covered in clothes, the shower was full of them, the floor crunched from having so many flies on it, the walls.

We really enjoyed our stay at El Tikki. It is a new hostal meaning the staff go over and above to make you feel welcome. They were extremely helpful and cooked a huge free breakfast every morning. The property does have a lot of bugs due to its location ,some blue lights are there to mange this however more would be beneficial. Definitely not for people who canâ€™t deal with bugs. The room was basic but had everything you need. A scooter is required if staying here, same as anywhere on the island.

The hostel is perfectly located in front of Santa Cruz beach, close to the various attractions in Ometepe. The staff is extremely kind and helpful and will invite you to express your ideas for further developing the space. Special love for the breakfasts, which are absolutely delicious. The hostel is still in development (we were the first guests) so expect a simple accommodation which perfectly does the job unless youâ€™re really turned off by bugs and wildlife. Overall we had a pleasant stay :)
