The Exford Hotel is a heritage style building, built in 1854. Located in Chinatown in the heart of the city. We offer dormitory style rooms as well as twin and doubles. The reception is open 24hrs with secure access to the hostel and a relaxed come and go as you please feel. Facilities include internet access with WiFi throughout the building. Located in the the basement we have a TV room with satellite channels and free movie hire, a huge kitchen with walk in fridge and secure lockers for food storage.
10.30am check out. Check-in from 14:00. Tour bookings and an on-site bottleshop that's open until 3.00am.
Cancellation Policy: 24 hours notice must be given to cancel a booking. Failure to comply with this will result in the cost of one night's accommodation being debited from the credit card.
All guest must have a VALID PASSPORT, PHOTO DRIVERS LICENCE OR PHOTO ID at time of check-in. If you do not have these your booking will be cancelled and you will not be checked in.. We require as a key deposit for the room either photo i.d (which can be a valid drivers licence, passport or identification card), a valid credit card or $5 cash.
Guests must be between the ages of18-35 to stay in dorms between 4-10 beds.
On the ground floor is one of Melbourne's oldest pubs with its stained glassed windows and ornate pressed metal ceilings. Free pool on Sundays and discount drinks for guests. Best of all its open until at least 4.00am every night. Guests receive a discount of 10% on all food and drink in the bar areas.On the 1st floor is the Winter Garden room an elegantly designed lounge bar that hosts a variety of nights. Come on down and enjoy a pizza and a pot of beer and sample a true Australian pub.
All rooms have been recently repainted with new carpet throughout the common areas. All beds have innerspring mattresses and rooms are cleaned daily.
Please note No persons under 18 years of age accepted and accommodation is on levels 2 &3. There is no elevator in the building.

Great location, easy to get around in the free tram zone.
Clean place and decent facilities, lots of stairs and lots of sounds from outside. Definitely need earplugs and a night mask, but overall no big issues and would likely stay again.

The staff are incredible, very friendly and very helpful! The facilities were good for the money you’re paying with full privacy for the showers, though I do wish there were more toilets on the levels.
Beer is reasonable with a small discount if you stay there. Has a jukebox with sick tunes on and a full library, good vibes and seems like a good place to pre before enjoying the nightlife near the hostel.
Really good place to stay, good value for what you get. Highly recommend!!

Had such a great time at Exford hotel.
Location is perfectly situated in the CBD. We stayed during the F1 & it wasn’t overly noisy.
Shower & toilet facilities were good, anything dirty was just because of other hostel stayers that didn’t clean up properly.
