Property Description

Pineapple Park Kona is located above Kealakekua Bay, offering one of the most pristine kayaking, diving and snorkeling adventures in Hawai'i. We are a ten minutes drive from the City of Refuge, Honaunau 'Two Steps', snorkeling/diving area, and the popular sandy beach of Ho'okena. We are located in close proximity to several art galleries, cafes and restaurants, a public bus stop, a supermarket, and a coffee farm. I stayed at Kona Beach Hostel, not Pineapple Park Kona. This was due to Hostel World not communicating with the the owners correctly. And so I was transferred to Kona Beach Hostel by the key people that run the facilities.

It feels more like a budget motel with a shared bathroom than a hostel. I had a private room that had a bed, chest, big table and chair, and portable air conditioning unit and 2 electric plug ins by the bed. I brought a towel but they have provided one, and there are many used/shared bottles of shampoo/conditioner/bodywash in the shared showers (x2). Kitchen is big and you can cook and save $ if you decide to stay for longer. The staff Annie & Sally were super nice & friendly.

Insanely expensive for a tiny closet with a lumpy mattress. Loud. Staff was kind enough to let me arrive late as I had been at the hospital with my son who was in a bad accident.
