Hostelworld says

Bellavista Hostel is in a great location near La Chascona, surrounded by bars and restaurants and just 10 minutes? walk from Baquedano metro station, with trains going further into city centre. The helpful, friendly and informative staff serve a popular, free simple breakfast daily. Hostelworld guests tell us this hostel is ?big enough to party if you want to party, but with plenty of space to chill out too? and that ?the atmosphere is very mellow but friendly, no crazy party noise to keep anyone awake?.

Property Description

'This highly social hostel is a Bellavista classic. Colorful, bright, secure, relaxed and comfortable - Not only does it tick every box for a good hostel stay, it is also within hollering distance of some of the city best bars and restaurants.' - Lonely Planet

We are located in the capital’s coolest district in Central Santiago: Barrio Bellavista! This quirky area is famous for its alternative culture and is the favorite of backpackers visiting Santiago.

This hostel-hood provides everything you need from great food, bars n pubs, outdoor fun, art, live music, festivals and so much more!

We don’t like to brag, but we do have it all: awesome staff, free wi-fi, free basic breakfast, self-catering kitchen and laundrette. We also provide free luggage storage for you on the day of your arrival and check-out.

The Bellavista also organizes fun stuff for you to do! Free Walking tours, Pub Crawls, wine tastings, BBQs, movie nights… well, you get the drift! It’s a fantastic way to meet other travellers and really make the most of your time in Santiago! Find out what’s happening in The Bellavista, or at La Chimba (our sister hostel) while you’re staying with us - ask for the itinerary when you check in.

What more could you want? Come sleep with us.

I made the reservation, and when we got there at 9 pm the hostel was closed and locked up, and according to the neighbours had been for more than a year. It was late in the night, and we had to find a new hostel from zero. I want my refund.

This Hostal is an absolute dive. No working locks on doors, few showers work, Wi-Fi doesn't reach the upstairs rooms. The floor is so loud and creaky if anyone is walking around at night it will wake you up - even from corridor! Ran by friendly backpackers who are volunteering and doing their best. Credit card machine wasn't working either. Best thing about Hostal is that it has great places to relax, loads of hammocks and areas to chill. Wouldn't recommend just because of this tho

Great place and people coming and going. Only thing that grates is they try charging people to fill their water bottles then just run it under the tap which you can do in the kitchen

The Bellavista Hostel says

I think what makes us special is that we've been established for ten years and have a record of outstanding service to our guests. But what really sets us apart is our location; not only are we located in the one and only Barrio Bellavista, we are situated in the middle of Barrio Bellavista's fanciest, safest and most entertaining block. The city's best restaurants are literally at our doorstep and the coolest nightlife venues are around the corner. Knowing how important it is for our guests to remain connected during their travels, our hostel now features a dedicated fiberoptic internet connection with free (high-speed) wi-fi throughout the property. The nearest attractions are poet Pablo Neruda's La Chascona House-Museum, Parque Metropolitano and the new trendy Patio Bellavista development (an urban courtyard full of restaurants, bars and shops). These are the places we usually tell our guests to visit and are possibly Santiago's favourite attractions among all travellers that visit the city. During the night we suggest they visit Bar Constitución (one block away), Galpón 9 and Club La Feria (two blocks away); all these are trendy nightlife institutions of Santiago. Our hostel is geared towards international backpackers and indie travelers between 18 and 35 years of age that want to experience Santiago to its fullest.
