Chateau Backpacker & Motels is 10 mins drive from Lake Mapourika and Franz Josef Glacier. Christchurch is a 4.5 hour drive away.

During my whole stay in NZ, this was the best property I stayed at. Manager Chris is an amazing person and he makes the best soup that’s available for free every evening!
