Media Luna Hostel is a unique combination of chill-out backpacker vibes and the historical feel of Cartagena. The old colonial building sheds a magical setting for enjoying a cold beer with your fellow travelers, sun-bathing at the lush patio or dipping into the refreshing pool to escape the heat of the Caribbean.
Media Luna is located in the area of Getsemani, which forms the artistic heart of the city's urban culture. Several well-known landmarks like the San Felipe Fort and the romantic historical center, as well as the trendiest bars and local restaurants, are all within a few minutes walk. If you wish to explore further you can also rent bikes at the hostel!
In the open-air kitchen you can prepare your own food or cook a group dinner for your new mates. In addition , the breakfast is included ,there is a free Wi-Fi in the hostel area, computers, tv-room, laundry, luggage storage and lockers. You can also book excursions or a bus to the next destination of your adventure.
The sunny patio forms the heart of the hostel during the day time, but at the night time the center of the action is at the roof top bar and terrace with cold drinks and a spectacular view over the city. Don't miss the famous Media Luna Mega Party on Wednesdays it flies you over the moon!
In the Hostel we have private rooms and shared dormitories with air conditioning and fan, locker which must bring its own padlock.
We also have a Hostel on Barú Island which is located on a private beach, which you can change one night of your stay here from the Hostel in Cartagena to the Hostel in Barú.

Overall a good hostel. Pros: breakfast included, great location, nice pool, a lot of showers, big locker in the room. Cons: even if I had AC in my room, it felt quite hot in my bed (top one). I believe they could resolve this issue by adding fans. There isn’t any curtains for the top beds neither are reading lamp. They should also add ceiling fans in the toilets and showers area because it was so humid I couldn’t dry myself. Nothing to dry our hands. The kitchen is weirdly organized.

Very close to the town and lovely atmosphere value for money and the security guards I believe was the nicest respectfully people there even nicer than the other staff!
Especially the one called toro even though he could not speak English the best he took time to explain everything even though goggle translation.!

Perfect neighborhood.
Some staff was amazing, some were bland and the rest should not work with humans/service.
Nice beds. Music turned of around 22 if you want to sleep. Nice with a little pool. Pretty good breakfast.
