Cool Bananas is only 3 minute walk to the beach and 2 minute walk to the shops. ALL Rooms contain FREE LOCKERS. We have fast, unlimited WiFi in Main Common Room for our guests, as well as free tea and coffee available all day. FREE on-site parking as well as free shuttle to and from the Greyhound bus stop, with check-ins from as early as 6.30am. Be sure to look out for the 'dancing bananas' to greet you at the bus stop and shuttle you to the hostel.

How will you spend your time in Agnes Water? Reception can book various tours for you. Ask us about Surf Lessons! The starting point for Gnarly Tours Surfing! YEEEWWWW!!! also kayaking tours, bicycle hire, surf board hire, the beautiful bush walks and lookouts, trips to the Southern Great Barrier Reef. Moreover, the famous Scooteroo Tour departs daily from the hostel. There are also FREE WALKS including the Paperbark Forest, Red Rock Trail and the Discovery Trail with stunning sunsets and sunrises only 10 minutes walk from the hostel.

I had a really great time at Cool Bananas! The staff were really kind and welcoming and made the atmosphere super social. Because it’s quite small you get to know everyone which is nice!
The group dinners put on by the owner was also such a great way to get to know people and made it really social.
Only slight issue was maybe not enough hobs and a couple were broken!!

Generally, the facilities and rooms were fine. However we did not meet a welcoming or organised staff.Our arrival was really stressful and there was no cooperation whatsoever.

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU DISLIKE PARTY HOSTELS!
While the owner writes that noise is kept to a minimum after 9pm, actually there is loud music playing until past midnight every day outside the dorm, making it quite difficult to sleep. The owner seems to encourage this.
Likewise, the hostel is mostly controlled by volunteer staffers, and they seem to be very casual about their workplace, yelling, squealing and sleeping wherever.
Will not come back, but could be a fit for the right person.
