River City Inn is located in the heart of the Singapore city, less than 3 minutes walk away from the Singapore River, and 5 minutes walk away from a MRT (tube/metro) train station.
River City Inn is a family-owned and operated hostel. As travellers ourselves, we know that affordability should never compromise hospitality. Everything you need to provide a comfortable stay are available: Free Wi-Fi, Clean Sheets and Air-Conditioning.
But at River City Inn, we aim to offer something more. After you have explored the winding streets of Singapore, experienced the different cultures, delighted your taste buds and worn your shoes under the sweltering heat, we want to welcome you back. We want to offer you a place to unwind, write your journal, talk to other travelers and share stories. We aim not only to provide a bed for the night, but a space for the exchange of ideas, inspirations, personal reflections and growth. Because that is what traveling is about.
Terms & Conditions:
• All our bookings are non-refundable. Full payment of the booking is chargeable in the event of cancellation or booking modification.
• Prepayment policy: The total amount of the booking may be charged in advance of your arrival.
• All prices include free WiFi, lockers (with locks), clean toilets, bathrooms, clean linen and clean rooms.
• Our reception operating hours are 7-11am and 4-8pm for check-in. Do alert us if you require late check-in. We will arrange for a staff to work overtime to wait for you. Just make your way to the hostel, ring the bell upon arrival and our staff will come out to assist you. Prior arrangement required.
• Late check-in charges are as follows:
1) S$8 per booking from 8pm to 12 midnight, and
2) S$16 per booking after 12 midnight (alternatively, you may wait at the airport and catch the first train around 6am. Our staff will check you in from 7am to 11am the next day at no additional charge.)
• If you have an early flight, you may leave your luggage with us(7am to 11am) and use our facilities before heading out to explore the city. A booking for the previous night is required should you need a bed to rest immediately upon arrival from 7am to 4pm on your check-in day.
• If you have a late flight or bus to catch on the day of your check-out, you may leave your bags with us at no additional cost until 8pm.
• The air-conditioners in the dorms are turned on continuously throughout the night (9pm to 7am). The dorms are ventilated with fans during the day. The common area is fully air-conditioned during the day.
• To upkeep the environment of a backpackers hostel, we do not accommodate children below the age of 5. Children aged between 5 and 11 years can be accommodated in private rooms only, and not in dormitories. Children aged 12 and above can be accommodated either in private rooms or in dormitories.
• Please note that we are located on the 4th floor of a heritage shophouse without a lift.
• To upkeep the cleanliness of the hostel, no footwear is allowed indoors (except in the toilets). Guests may wear socks if they are not comfortable barefooted.
• We will hold all bookings up to 3 hours of your scheduled arrival time. Kindly inform us if you have any changes to your arrival time.
• We do not accept big groups above 8pax. Please contact us prior to booking for large group bookings.
• Please note that not all our rooms/dormitories have windows. If you need to stay in a room with windows, please check with us before booking.

Lovely staff and very clean but be wary there are a lot of middle aged men who seemed to be staying there long term. To reach the bathroom you need to go through the communal area with all of them sitting there. The sinks are literally in the communal area. As young female travellers we felt a little uncomfortable and would have chosen somewhere else having known this. There were very little female travellers.

I stayed in a 4 bed bunk room. A/C worked fine but was windowless. lockers were okay but not amazing, only big enough for a small backpack. you had to walk up there flights of stairs to get to the hostel. the social atmosphere was non-existent. The place was clean. bathrooms were a bit crammed and felt a bit icky. this hostel served its purpose for me which (a place to sleep for two nights), other than that, I wouldn't expect anything else from your experience here.

Not unclean, but smelly from lots of middle aged men staying long term and heating meals often, since they seem to never leave the hostel. Also the aircon or AC is turned off at 9am and isn't turned back on until 9pm, so if you want a day in you will have no respite from the heat except from a fan. Cheaper than other hostels for a reason
