Mt. Fuji Hostel Michael's is the newest Hostel in the Mt. Fuji area, opened in July 2010. Located in Fujiyoshida City the base of Mt. Fuji. Mt. Fuji Hostel is just a 5 minutes walk from Gekkoji train station or a 15-minute walk from Mt. Fuji train station, you can also take a taxi from Mt. Fuji (FUJISAN) station for about 740 yen to our Hostel. We have English-speaking staff who can help with all your travel needs during your stay with us.
*Our check-in time is from 15:00 to 20:00 NO check-ins will be accepted after 20:00. Quiet time is from 12:00 (midnight) to 6:00 am.

Mt. Fuji Hostel Michael's is a Non-Smoking Hostel and All beds are for one person only. A smoking area is available on the balcony for guests who wish to smoke.
Mt. Fuji Hostel Michael's has 2 Mixed Dormitory Rooms with 5 bunk beds (10 guests in each room), all bunk beds have private curtains, reading lights, and power outlets (for laptops & mobile phones only).
2 Japanese Tatami Private rooms
*Japanese Style Standard Room can accommodate a maximum of 3 Guests & *Japanese Style Superior Room can accommodate a maximum of 4 guests.
*Western Style Single Room can accommodate 1 guest and * Western Style Bunk-Bed Room can accommodate a maximum of 2 guests.
All Rooms are Shared Bathrooms, Showers & Washer Areas (Shampoo, Conditioner, and Body Soap are provided free in the Shower Room).
The washing Machine & Tumble Dryer are available 24 hours a day (please pay the fee at the front desk before using them)
Washer - 100 yen
Dryer - 200 yen
Free Internet & WiFi, Free use of the Computer (Office 2010 (English ver)). Free Key Lockers, Free coffee, and Tea.

This hostel is great spot if you plan to check out the Fuji area and are looking for a bed in a quieter accommodations. I found the 10-bed dorm to be crammed since a carry-on suitcase barely fit between beds (8-bed dorm would be perfect). The reception and staff were very responsive and kept the place spotless. They offer complimentary tea/coffee which is nice and plenty of guidebooks to help with your stay.

Great location to get to Fuji 5th Station from but wouldn’t recommend a long stay. Michael seemed quite misanthropic and was rude on a few occasions when we asked for advice/help. He bizarrely refused to recommend any nice places to eat when we asked as he was watching TV. All the other staff were delightful and super friendly.

Clean hostel in an amazing location. There is a space to eat and catch a glimpse of Mt. Fuji when the weather permits. They have an efficient washer/dryer and two computers. The dorm rooms were a bit cramped, no where really to put a backpack/luggage. However, the beds were very spacious with great privacy curtains. I would stay at this hostel again.
