With a fun and laid back atmosphere, regular events and friendly staff, you'll feel right at home during your stay here with us at the Coolangatta YHA. We are just a 3 minute walk to Bilinga Beach and a 5 minute bus ride from Coolangatta's town centre.
Coolangatta is the ultimate beach town! Boasting some of the worlds most famous surf breaks, a warm balmy climate, breathtaking scenery and loads of fantastic shops and restaurants for your enjoyment. Surf, dive, snorkel, swim, fish, hike, skydive, party on or chill out, Cooly's got something for every traveller.
Guests must agree to the Coolangatta YHA House Rules on check-in and are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that is respectful and courtesy of other the guests they are sharing space with.
If you need to cancel your booking you must do so at least 24 hours prior to your check-in date, if you fail to give notice your credit card will be charged for the amount of 1 nights’ stay.
Our office hours are 8am – 5pm. If you are arriving after our office hours please call or e-mail ahead for our lock box code :)

Poor stay, greeted on arrival by the smell of weed. Appalling mattress standards unbearably uncomfortable despite reading a review earlier in the year about the mattresses being updated. Average cleanliness around and the washroom ran out of soap. There were children staying at the hostel which changed the atmosphere. The airport noises roared through the room at early morning and late afternoon. 45 minute walk to the nearest town, poorly served by public transport.

Lovely communal spaces but the rooms themselves were run down and only had 2 sockets between. Also, while I was there there were a bunch of old men who seemer homeless staying there. They made noise all night and were generally unfriendly. Not recommended.

It’s great if you need to catch a flight the next day:) Pretty loud with planes flying overhead at night.
