Property Description
Established in 1990, Sandy Hostel has come to be one of the most popular accommodations in Rome and a well-known place to stay for young travelers. Since its opening it has been recommended in all the main guide books.
The structure is located in Rione Monti, a lively neighborhood close to the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. Just down the hill you will find the charming cobble-stone streets, Monti proper, complete with fountain for nighttime gatherings. A trendy area, it boasts artisan and vintage shops, a plethora of dining options and cafes, and bustling crowds comprised of residents, artists, tourists, and other colorful folk.
Sandy is a calm, clean, budget-friendly place to crash in the heart of Rome. It is located on the fourth floor of a 19th-century townhouse on Via Cavour, one of Rome’s main roads. Despite being a small property, with no common room and no kitchen, our guests appreciate the cozy, homey atmosphere.

The place was by far worse than what you would expect from a hostel. There is no reception; you should communicate through SMS to arrange for keys. The so-called hostel is a home transformed into a sleeping place. It smells bad and is not worth the money you spend at all.

When i arrived at the hostel, i did not get the feeling that it was a real hostel, but rather in the apartment to the man Franco. It was just in an old apartment-building in the 4th floor. It was not clean at all when i arrived, and it was messy and paper everywhere. In the room where the payment was done, it was reeally messy and not clean. It also had a bad smell there. I came alone, and did not feel comfertable at all. It ended up me ordrering a hotel instead. I do not recommend this hostel.

Didn't expect that have to stay all alone in the hostel for a night with no one around.. Franko is very nice old man and prompt in responding. But hostel is not at all being well maintained, not neat, bedsheets were so dirty. Location wise is centre, but not that worth for the amount we are paying for stay. Bathroom water was leaking throughout, no cooking facility, not neat also.
