I don't know if I just got a bad room in this hostel, but I would not recommend it based on my experience. I was in a mixed dorm room and the people I stayed with were horrible - they would come back at 5 in the morning and be incredibly loud and rude. Furthermore, it wasn't clear to me that the beds had been cleaned before I stayed there and the bathrooms and showers were quite dirty. The staff were nice and the location was okay, but I would not stay here again.

I had the most amazing stay here! Teressa and the rest of the staff were so lovely and made the stay 1 million times better. They made you feel at home and so welcome! If I am ever back in Prague I would not stay anywhere but here!! Lovely terrace, clean rooms, fun activities!

Hostel ELF says

We've run this hostel for 12 years so I think we're still one of the 'real' backpackers' hostels, not just a hotel-style place made to look like a hostel. Eighty percent of the beds in our hostel are in dorms. Our hostel is also a small gallery, full of unique underground art by young Czech artists. Each spacious room has original decor. Along with our free breakfast, in the summer we offer free BBQs three times a week; in the winter we do free dinners and pasta night. We also sell cheap beer (70 cents for 0.5L) and we offer free tea and coffee all day long. It's ideal for real backpackers travelling around the world. I recommend that people visit the Palac Akropolis. It's known as a centre of cultural events in the area.
