Generator Hamburg is a design hotel-hostel located in the city centre, next to the Hauptbahnhof. Guests can choose from shared dorms to private rooms, offering something for everyone. Complete with 24-hour reception, free wifi, bikes available for hire and a popular bar, Generator is a fun and affordable choice in Hamburg.
All guests under 18 need to book a private room at Generator Hamburg. And you will need to have written permission from a parent or a guardian
St. Georg is one of the coolest and most central areas in Hamburg and this is where you will find Generator.
It's right next to the central train station in the city center. On the doorstep are great attractions such as Deichtorhallen, Landungsbruecken, Harbour City as well as the historical Speicherstadt or the famous Reeperbahn.
When you have seen and done it all head back to Generator and soak up the atmosphere. It's a destination in its own and a great place to socialise and reflect on your experiences of the day.
Head to the bar and chill out areas to get yourself a well deserved drink or. We have also great beds for sleepy heads and of course you will be enjoying Hamburg life in the most stylish and authentic surroundings.

In case of no show or late cancellation, the total amount of the full booking will be charged unless the property is informed of late arrival by the guest.
Please note that for free cancellation bookings, all credit cards provided at time of booking may be charged 7 hours prior to arrival.

We would welcome a dog on property but only when staying in a private room, and subject to a € 25.00 fee per dog per Stay. Only Dog under 75lbs./ 34kg

If your looking for peace and quiet, you won't find it here. Lots of children monopolizing the lifts, running up and down till late at night and lots of jumping and slamming doors. Granted, there was no outside play area, being directly across from Central Station, but they tended to monopolize the place.

If you’re looking for the typical generator experience this is not it. The bar is often closed and there are more kids than anything, which is fine if that’s what you’re looking for! The neighborhood is walkable to several great places, though If you venture south you’re quickly in a bad part of town. Overall it served its purpose and the quick access to the train is the best part.

I expected the hostel to have an international vibe with lots of thing going on, but I was wrong. The bar was closed on the first night and the hostel has clearly changed their aim towards running a social housing hostel. Kids running around everywhere, fighting, screaming and playing with the elevators. Lots of people smoks right at the entrance and more than one time the entrance was packed with homeless/junkies who gathers in front of the hostel. The room was nice though.Expected more of G
