Significant noise by other groups late in the night ie past 1am. No action from staff. Very evident smoke from outside entering through bathroom windows - should use extractor fan instead and keep windows closed.

You do not really get a Hostel vibe from the place.
Overall its quite chill. But you get endless amount of rules and if you overstay (after 10) you have to pay 20$. The fun part is that they lock the showers starting from 9 to clean them…..

Not the Y's fault, but there's a massive lcd billboard that shines into the dorms, changing colors, bring a sleep mask, that's just Auckland not giving two f***s about their residents though. Cheap bright floruscent light seems to come standard at every YMCA, so maybe bring some sunnies to help you sleep if you wake up at night. Besides that everything was up to par and went smoothly, 24hour reception is nice, it does the job when you need a place to sleep.
