Property Description

The Hummingbird Center is a working permaculture farm and educational homestead with 25 years of experience. The original farmstead has been working hard since the 1940s. We have multiple camping options available including platforms, car camping, and field camping. Our Hostel has 3 private rooms and one shared space (20' x 30') Yoga Room.

The farm is comprised of 180 acres of northern forest, beautiful meadows, and the headwaters of the Baker River. We have over 5 miles of easy trails to wander on, 25 acres of gardens, a beautiful swimming hole within 3 miles. The renowned Rumney Crag is located about 10 minutes from here for all you rock climbers. We are also directly connected next door to Green Woodlands, with bike in bike out access to world class mountain biking trails.

The Hummingbird Center is a non-profit permaculture farm and educational homestead. We have been creating this experimental project since 1997. We offer a wealth of knowledge in forest gardening, permaculture, homesteading, sustainability and alternative building.

I do not like to give a bad rating when i have not visited the place. I genuinly believe the people at Hummingbird centre are doing a great job. And we were looking forward to our stay BIG BIG time, nevertheless the whole proces of booking went horrible. That was on Hostelword... And although I do not think thats all on Hummingbirds, all together thinsg went rather sideways, leaving us no other option then to cancel.

D Acres was a wonderful retreat complete with beautiful views, outdoors/hiking, education on sustainability, permaculture, and eco-friendliness, relaxed vibes, and welcoming hosts. We cooked meals together and drank lots of tea. Staff were always available and friendly. Remember to bring biodegradable hygiene products! Enjoyyy
