Dioskouros is in the ideal location in Athens, surrounded by museums and traditional taverns, next to the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the Acropolis. Hostelworld guests tell us this is a ‘very safe and secure neighbourhood’; they’ve also said this hostel has a quiet and friendly atmosphere and value for money. Their great staff offer air conditioning and free pancake breakfasts. We particularly like their cats.

This intimate hotel offers clean and simple rooms with shared bathrooms and all basic hotel facilities: air conditioning, free internet wifi in common area, 24-hour reception and security. Definitely a basic hostel, but a really good location close to the Acropolis. Breakfast was decent in the morning. We happened to be in a room right next to some major construction, so it was loud while we were there. Otherwise a good stay

Not the nicest place. It was clean, and the wifi worked decently. But the beds are uncomfortable, and no lockers in rooms. There are lockers in main area, but cost €2 and if you open it then you have to pay again. They are big though, and can fit a lot. The breakfast is not free, even though online it said it was. He claimed it wasn’t free for my room and I had to pay $5 for it. The showers get water everywhere, there’s no shower door or curtain. The ac works well and gets the room cold. Only some of the be

Dioskouros says

I think what really makes us special is our unbeatable location, right at the foot of the Acropolis rock, but on a quiet street away from the noisy city. Our Garden provides a great shelter from the bustling city of Athens for those who want to take a break from site seeing etc and relax during the day. In fact, you'd never know you were in downtown Athens when chilling there...that's why we serve breakfast in the garden! The main thing that separates us from other hostels is that we have a totally non commercial/alternative approach to our guests feeling more like hosts than hostel owners. Our friendly team of locals - Stav, Denitsa and Dinos - can help guests truly explore the city in the best possible way. Stav is also a concert promoter, so guests can check with him about any awesome gigs and club nights before heading out. There are several nearby places I highly recommend visiting, but here I would have to suggest Kostas Souvlaki in Syntagma, just a seven-minute walk away - they've got the best souvlaki in the city. I'd say our hostel is ideally suited for chilled-out, laid-back and relaxed people hoping to see the off-beat side of Athens.
