The Firehouse Hostel is located in the oldest standing fire station in Austin, originally built in 1885. Locally owned and operated, started by travelers for travelers, the hostel first opened in 2013 after an extensive renovation project that updated the building’s interior. Our “Deluxe” dorms feature custom heavy duty bunks with large lockers built in underneath. Each bed includes power outlets and a reading light.
The attached Firehouse Lounge is a great place to meet fellow travelers and locals, sip on handcrafted cocktails or locally brewed beers, and enjoy live music. You can access our popular speakeasy-style cocktail bar through a hidden bookshelf in the hostel lobby!

I had a great stay at the firehouse in Austin. Being my first time in a hostel, I experienced great customer service from Aime, Howie and literally ALL the staff there. Everything was clean, well maintained and I made some great friends along the way! Thank Firehouse Hostel for a great introduction to Austin Texas!

Amazing location, rooms were very clean and nice to stay in. There is a speakeasy underneath it so it can get loud but it has amazing vibes and the bar tenders are super lovely!!
