We are located on Gastronomic Pole of Tijuca, with many Bars and Restaurants, 800 meters from Rio de Janeiros Maracanas Stadium, near of Tijuca Shopping, three Samba Schools (Salgueiro, Vila Isabel and Magueira), Tijuca Forest (the worlds largest urban forest) and next to two Metro Station (Maracan and Saens Penha).
Maraca Hostel Rio offers Shared and Private accommodation, a Pool, Free Wi-Fi (in public areas and in the rooms), a Bar, TV Room, Shared Kitchen, 24 hours reception English spoken , Barbecue area, Free Computer Station, Security Cameras. All the rooms have air conditioning, with no restricted time to use.
Only the suites has private bathroom. We have 10 collective bathrooms: 2 for female, 2 for male and 6 shared.
All the shared room counts with 8 beds, individual light and wall sockets and private lockers with key.
The private room has TV, Couple or Twin beds, in the suites beyond that haselectronic safe. We provide Towels, Bed Sheets and Pillows. The exchange occurs every 7 days for dorms, 5 days for private room and 3 days for suites.

Worst Hostel.Rooms & washrooms were extremely dirty. Strong chemical smell in the room making it really hard to breath. Horrible service.Uber driver warned us that the area was not safe at all. People staying at hostel seemed very sketch, had to keep an eye on our stuff all the time. We were supposed to stay there for 4 nights but had to leave within our 1st night as the conditions were horrible. Tried to speak with the owner but he did not want to accommodate our requests or reply to our emails

Location is near a shopping mall + stadium but nothing else. "Double bed" was actually 2 saggy single beds smushed together, with a sheet too small to cover all 4 corners once you lay on it. Sheets were not changed once in 7 days, and CPUs wouldn't work for first 5 of those days, despite being advertised on the welcome email. Bathroom soap dispensers are all broken + empty. Even the toaster handle is broken. Staff are wonderful, but there's only so much they can do with facilities that run down.

By far the worst hostel I have stayed in. There are cockroaches in the rooms (which, from what I've seen, only get cleaned once every four or five days) and the bathrooms are constantly dirty. The hostel takes the 'environmentally friendly' initiative too far to the point where the AC is never on and the bathroom lights turn off after 30 seconds. Most of the staff were often rude and didn't seem to know much about the place.
