Great hostel! Nice location close to the beach, restaurants, and nightlife. Easy to get an Uber into Mombasa. Staff are really helpful and very friendly!

Tulia Backpackers is honestly really nice. I loved the appearance of the girls dorm. It has a nice spacious bathroom also. The staff is very nice, and the bar is often full of locals and backpackers. I made some good memories. However.. I can definitely see that they have been making some upgrades, but some of the stuff needs replacement still. I'm referring to the pool area mostly. The sunbed cushions are worn out and smell bad. Pool could also have been cleaner. Anyways, those are no reasons to not go to

Great location but hated my stay here. In my private room, remote was not working for both AC and TV. Room gets very hot. When I brought it up to the worker, his excuse was "the previous guests broke it and didn't tell them". Ok... so what were you guys doing before we checked in? Then we left out to go eat and were hoping this situation would be resolved. Nope. Now this guy's excuse was "the supermarket is closed". This person knows that the supermarket which is 5 minutes walk away close at this certain ho
