Hostel Dalagatan

Bed bugs.

No windows makes it a bit weird.

We are two young women, aged 23, travelling around Northern Europe. When we arrived to check in at Hostel Dalagatan, we didn’t see anyone at the reception. Although we were asked to check in after 3pm when we booked the room, it was written that the reception was closed from 3pm. They never checked our IDs, anyone can enter the hostel. They gave us by email a code to enter our room, which was the same as the code to open the front door. It’s not safe at all. The room wasn’t dirty but it was the bare minimum (I saw hairs on the mattress). Moreover, the lockers were so tiny they couldn’t fit our backpacks or a lot of stuff, it’s not suitable for backpackers. But the worst of the hostel was the population : most of them looked like they were living there (some of them weren’t wearing shoes in the kitchen, we saw dozens of cans in the lockers, they didn’t seem to be doing anything in the kitchen). They all were more than fifty, didn’t say a word to us, smelled bad… the atmosphere was really creepy, we didn’t feel safe to the point that we ate dinner in our room. In the fridge, although it was asked to label our food, they didn’t bother to do it, the fridge weren’t clean. There weren’t any forks, not suitable for cooking. We had booked 4 nights at the hostel, but it was so unsafe that we prefered to leave the place at 10pm and book in another place, rather than spending a night there. We do not recommend this hostel cause we didn’t feel safe at all
