Want to experience Iceland's majestic city, coastline, and countryside in one visit? Dalur HI Hostel is perfectly located and our team has the best travel tips! We'll take all the hassle out of organizing tours and day trips, from the Volcano Trip and the Blue Lagoon to the Golden Circle and glaciers, as well as hiking and biking. There's plenty to entertain you at the hostel, too – our cafe, lounge areas, patio and garden make ideal spots to get acquainted with some friendly new faces.
Location
We're located in the heart of Laugardalur Park, next door to the national sports stadiums and Laugardalslaug, Iceland's biggest thermal pool and spa. It's a 30-minute walk to the city center along the scenic Reykjavik coastline, or 10 minutes by bike or bus. From Keflavík Airport, FlyBus run to a schedule connecting with every flight and will drop you off at the hostel upon request.
Rooms and Dorms
Our mixed or female-only dorms and private double rooms are clean, cozy, and stylishly decorated with touches of authentic Nordic décor. Linen is included in your stay, and all of our comfy dorm beds have their own personal reading lights and plugs. Some rooms have shared bathrooms, while others are private – but all of our showers are lovely and hot.
Extras and activities
Start your morning with our breakfast or stock up at the local minimarket and get inventive in our guest kitchen.

had a great stay at this hostel, you do need to take a bus to get into central Reykjavik but its pretty easy to work out. most tours and aiport tramsfers pick up and drop off here. Kitchen facilities are great, room and bathrooms are always clean and its in a really nice, quiet area!

We did not have a good experience at this hostel. They have instructions to strip the bedding off the beds when you check out, so since we were staying two nights, we left the bedding on, and I left my wall adapter in the charging port. When we got back the second night, someone was sleeping in my bed, my adapter was gone, and my boyfriend's bed had been stripped of the bedding. We had to leave early for our flight, so we ended up just sitting in the lobby. Definitely don't stay multiples nights

This is a nice hostel and the staff were fantastic every time I contacted them. The public kitchen is great, and they have a lot of free food left behind by other guests (at least in winter). It's not cheap, but it's the cheapest hostel in Reykjavík – and better managed than at least one of the other hostels I know in this city in a similar price range. :)
