The Baxter offers you something you won’t find anywhere else. More than just a place to put your head down our custom built hostel will wow you with its vibrant and unique style. We aim to be somewhere you genuinely want to hang out, where you can feel at home, meet new people and make the most of our amazing city.
Our dorm rooms range from 4-12 beds, and you can choose from single sex or mixed. Enjoy our immaculate, customised kitchen and chilled out luxe lounging area. Each room has its own lockers to keep your luggage & private belongings safe and the hostel has free WIFI throughout.
Please note:
Cancellation policy: 48h before date of arrival.
In the case of a no show or cancellation without 48hrs notice customer to be charged for first 2 nights of their booking.
The Baxter Hostel reserves the right to preauthorise the card given at the tim eof the booking to the value of the booking. If the card provided is invalid or cannot be pre-authorised this may result in your booking being cancelled.
Our reception is open 24-7.
Check-in is after 14:00 & you must Check-out by 10:00.
The Hostel is smoking free.
Each guest will need to provide a valid passport, European identity card or UK drivers license at check-in.
Payment upon arrival by cash, credit cards, debit cards.
Taxes included.
Breakfast included.
No curfew.
Non smoking.
Minimum stay at weekends is 2 nights.
We preauthorise cards for bookings arriving in August. Failure to preauthorise your card may result in your booking being cancelled.

• Groups may only book entire dorms.
• A Group is defined as a booking for 6 people or more or when booking an entire dorm.
• Groups of more than 21 people must contact The Baxter directly to ensure we can accommodate them in their own dorms.
• All groups must pay a 25% non-refundable deposit to secure their booking.
• The balance is due 21 working days before arrival.
• For cancellation of a group booking we need a notice period of 21 working days before the arrival date.

We loved the people we met there and the staff were so kind! Declan was a great help at check in. At times it felt crowded and not as clean as it could be but for a hostel right next to the royal mile, amazing!

Lovely staff, super helpful and kind! Bathrooms are absolutely tiny and need some upgrades. Really chill vibe if you want somewhere to rest your head for the night or two.

It's in a great location (close to train and bus stations). The rooms are great and staff were friendly and helpful.
Giving it a lower rating because:
-the "lounge space" is really just a couple of benches in the kitchen. It also doubles as reception
-the owners and staff appeared to be hanging out in the lounge space the entire time I was there so you couldn't actually use it
-one bathroom for entire hostel, tiny showers
-overall definitely not worth the "boutique" price
